Libman Wonder Mop 2000 Wet Mop Wringes Without a Special Bucket
THE BUYING TAKE
Choose the Libman Wonder Mop 2000 for light, regular hard-floor cleaning when a washable head, simple bucket and compact storage matter most; choose a plush spin mop if wrist-friendly wringing or fast pickup of large spills matters more.
Best for
Households that already have a basic bucket, want to reuse a machine-washable mop head and mainly damp-mop swept hard floors rather than absorb frequent large kitchen spills.
The trade-off
The wringer is manual and can tax the wrists; independent testing found the stiffer strips less absorbent than plush microfiber and prone to initially spreading coffee or barbecue sauce, while wood and laminate still require floor-maker moisture guidance.

A wet mop should make water easier to control, not add another bulky mechanism to the cleaning closet. The Libman Wonder Mop 2000 takes a simple approach: slide the wringer sleeve down the handle to squeeze the microfiber strips over a sink or ordinary bucket. You do not need a matching spin bucket or a foot pedal, and the approximately 62-inch steel handle gives the mop useful reach for routine passes across hard floors.
The removable head is also machine-washable, so normal upkeep does not depend on disposable pads. Those two conveniences make the Wonder Mop most appealing for light, regular cleaning where storage space and replaceable consumables matter. Independent testing, however, shows that the firm strip-style head is less absorbent than plush microfiber designs. It is a poor choice for quickly collecting a large spill or tackling sticky kitchen messes in a few passes.
The handle-mounted wringer works with an ordinary bucket
Libman's built-in power wringer sits on the mop rather than in a dedicated bucket. After rinsing the head, pull the sleeve over the strips and press out water; then slide it back before mopping. That keeps the moisture-control mechanism with the tool and lets you use a basic bucket or sink that may already fit your storage space.
The arrangement is useful when the alternative is buying and storing a large spin-mop system. It also keeps your hands away from the wet head during wringing. The mechanism is still manual: Serious Eats found it fairly effective in its test, removing 55% of the absorbed water, but also found it tough on the wrists. If hand strength or repetitive gripping is a concern, a foot-pedal spin bucket may be easier to operate.

A washable head reduces disposable-pad upkeep
Libman says the Gripstrips microfiber head can be removed and machine-washed up to 50 times. That gives one head a defined reuse path instead of requiring a fresh disposable pad for every cleaning session. The official page also lists an extra-strong steel handle, an overall length of about 62 inches and a one-year warranty.
For routine care, remove the head according to Libman's instructions, wash it separately as directed, and reinstall it only after it is ready for use. Reusability does not make the head maintenance-free: it still needs prompt rinsing and laundering so soil is not carried into the next room or cleaning session. Replacement Wonder Mop heads are sold separately when the original is worn.
Firm strips scrub differently from plush microfiber
Libman describes the Gripstrips as designed to lift stubborn dirt and says the mop can be used on vinyl, linoleum, wood, laminate, marble, stone and ceramic tile. Those are manufacturer claims, not permission to use the same water level or cleaner on every finish. Follow the flooring maker's instructions, test an inconspicuous area when needed and keep excess moisture away from wood or laminate that is not approved for wet mopping.
The strip construction brings an important performance tradeoff. In Serious Eats' controlled comparison, the Libman absorbed 534 grams of water after soaking, well below the 1,285 grams collected by the plush O-Cedar EasyWring head. The reviewer also reported that the stiffer strips initially spread coffee and barbecue sauce before picking them up. Better Homes & Gardens' current testing gives the alternative tradeoff: its recommended O-Cedar spin mop cleaned sticky spills effectively and offered easier moisture control, but its dedicated bucket needs more storage space.
Those results do not make the Wonder Mop unusable. They define the job it does best: damp passes over already swept floors and manageable areas of everyday soil. A plush spin-mop head or an extraction tool makes more sense when fast liquid pickup, heavy kitchen spills or deep cleaning is the priority.
Choose compact simplicity, not maximum spill pickup
The Wonder Mop 2000 suits a household that wants a conventional wet mop, a washable head and built-in wringing without dedicating storage space to a proprietary bucket. Its long handle and replaceable head also make it easier to keep one familiar tool in service rather than stocking disposable pads.
It is less persuasive for someone with limited wrist strength, frequent large spills or a strong preference for a soft, highly absorbent mop head. The Libman system controls water with fewer pieces, but independent testing shows that its stiffer strips sacrifice rapid absorption. Choose it for light hard-floor routines and straightforward storage; choose a plush microfiber spin mop when liquid pickup and easier wringing matter more than keeping the bucket simple.
