Set a plate of vegetables or a portion of frozen snacks beside the two appliances and the useful difference becomes clear: the food will occupy a glass bowl under the Ninja Crispi's removable head, or a mesh basket inside the Breville BOV900's oven chamber. Both can answer a countertop air-frying need. Their shapes ask for different working space before and after cooking.
Here the Crispi is the Stone FN101ST four-function system, and the Breville is the brushed-stainless Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS. Choose one around the food you air fry most often. Extra oven functions become relevant only after the air-frying arrangement fits.
Put the usual portion in the right shape
Ninja supplies a 6-cup glass container and a larger 4-quart container. That gives the Crispi a useful small-batch option without requiring the same vessel for every portion. The transparent sides also let you see the food through the container instead of looking only through an oven door.
The larger bowl remains a four-quart vessel. A capacity figure does not establish how much food you can spread without crowding, so consider the shape of the food as well as the amount. Several broad pieces may pose a different problem from a compact portion that fits comfortably in the bowl.
The BOV900 includes a mesh basket for air frying and dehydrating inside its one-cubic-foot oven. Its rack arrangement makes it a different proposition for foods you want to lay out on a tray. Breville also documents space for most 9-by-13-inch pans, which is useful when baking is part of the same purchase.
Do not convert those figures into a crispness ranking. Bowl volume, oven volume and tray dimensions describe different things. Choose the arrangement that accommodates your regular meal, then follow the appliance's loading and cooking instructions. Neither specification alone proves that dinner will cook faster or brown more evenly.
Reserve room for the action, not just the appliance
Crispi's powered head lifts away from the compatible glass container. That makes the space above the bowl part of the workflow. You need a stable cooking position, access to remove the head and somewhere to manage the separate pieces. A removable head is useful for storage, but it does not mean cooking occupies no counter space.
The FN101ST uses a corded, 1500-watt PowerPod. Its portability concerns moving and storing the system, rather than operating without an outlet. The supplied glassware and adapter are parts of the system; an ordinary bowl is not a substitute chosen just because it seems to fit.
Breville lists an exterior width of 21.4 inches, depth of 17.3 inches and height of 12.7 inches. Its current instruction book additionally calls for four inches of space on both sides and six inches above while operating. Include that clearance, the opening door and a safe place for a hot basket when measuring.
The BOV900 therefore makes sense where the oven can have an established working position. Crispi is more interesting when storing the separated system between uses would help, provided handling glass and organizing the accessories suit you.
Decide which work happens after the air-fried meal
Ninja includes storage lids for the two containers. Keeping food in compatible glassware for serving and later storage is a reason to choose the bowl system when transferring leftovers between dishes is a recurring nuisance. Plan cooling and storage according to the instructions; the lids are not air-frying covers.
Breville's wider menu includes toast, roast, proof, slow cook and dehydrate alongside air fry. Those functions support buying one large oven when you genuinely use several of them. They add little value if the actual job remains one small snack and an appliance that must leave the counter afterward.
Choose Crispi FN101ST for its two glass-container sizes and container-based routine. Choose BOV900BSS for a tray-based air-frying arrangement within an oven that will also bake or roast. Skip either if its working space or handling requirements make the regular meal harder to manage.
