Philips OneBlade 360 QP2724/90 Face Trimmer & Shaver: Flexible Blade

Most beard trimmers are good at shortening hair and mediocre at the clean-up work around the edges. Traditional razors do the opposite: they shave close, but they are less convenient when you want to keep stubble, shape a line, and rinse the tool in the shower. The Philips Norelco OneBlade 360 Face QP2724/90 is built around that gap. One handle trims, edges, and shaves, with a flexible 360 blade and a five-position comb for short facial hair.

The 360 blade is the reason this model feels different

Philips says the OneBlade cutter moves 12,000 times per minute. The cutting edge sits behind a glide coating and rounded tips, while the 360 blade flexes in multiple directions to keep contact as you move around the jaw, chin, and other curves.

That does not make it a substitute for every razor. Philips explicitly says OneBlade does not shave as close as a traditional blade. That is an important buying point, not a flaw to hide. If you want completely smooth, blade-close skin every morning, a conventional razor or a closer electric shaver may suit you better. If you prefer short stubble, defined edges, or a quick cleanup without switching tools, the OneBlade format makes more sense.

The blade is dual-sided, so you can work in either direction when tracing beard lines or cleaning up around a mustache. The included adjustable comb covers five short lengths from 1 to 5 mm, which keeps the package focused on stubble and short beard maintenance rather than longer beard shaping.

Wet, dry, sink, or shower

The QP2724/90 is fully waterproof. Philips says it can be used wet or dry, with or without foam, and rinsed directly under the tap. That makes cleanup simpler than with a trimmer that needs careful brushing around a non-washable body.

For a compact travel kit, the combination is attractive: one handle, one 360 blade, the five-in-one comb, a protection cap, and a USB-A charging cable. Philips does not include a wall power adapter, so you need an existing 5 V USB power source.

The battery is the biggest compromise. This version uses Ni-MH rather than lithium-ion, and Philips specifies 45 minutes of runtime after an eight-hour full charge. That is enough for repeated short grooming sessions, but it is slow by modern charging standards. If fast charging or long cordless runtime matters more than price and simplicity, a higher-end OneBlade model is worth comparing.

Replacement blades are part of the real cost

The stainless steel OneBlade head is a consumable. Philips says a blade can last up to four months for the best shaving experience, based on two full shaves per week, with actual results varying. An eject icon appears as performance declines and signals that replacement should be considered.

That means the handle is not a one-time purchase in the same way as a basic washable comb trimmer. Before buying, check replacement-blade pricing in your market and treat it as part of the ongoing cost. Someone who shaves frequently, has coarse hair, or presses through long sessions may replace blades on a different schedule than Philips' reference example.

The benefit is that the blade system keeps the main handle small and the cutting surface easy to replace. The tradeoff is recurring blade expense.

Who should buy it

The OneBlade 360 Face QP2724/90 is best for someone who wants one compact tool for stubble, beard lines, and a comfortable not-quite-razor-close shave. It is especially useful if you alternate between trimming and shaving instead of keeping one fixed beard length.

Skip it if you want the closest possible shave, need a long-beard comb system, or dislike an eight-hour charge for 45 minutes of runtime. Also remember that this is the Face kit: it is not the Face + Body package with extra body-grooming attachments.

For short facial hair, though, the design is genuinely clever. The flexible head follows curves, the comb handles five short lengths, and the same waterproof tool can trim, edge, shave, rinse, and go back into a small bathroom drawer.
