The Presto 02970 Professional SaladShooter takes a narrower approach. Food enters a large chamber, passes through one of four interchangeable cones, and exits directly toward the bowl, pan, or plate you are already using.

That direct path is the clearest reason to consider it. The current black model includes cones for thick slices, ripple slices, medium shreds, and super shreds, plus a funnel guide and an adjustable food guide. It is an electric slicer/shredder rather than a general food processor: the purchase makes sense when those four cuts match the prep you repeat.

Four cones give recurring ingredients a defined cut

The thick-slice cone can prepare fruit or vegetables for dishes where pieces need body. The ripple cone adds a ridged cut for vegetable trays. Medium shreds suit potatoes for hash browns, while super shreds suit ingredients for coleslaw or stir-fry. Presto also documents shredding cheese, grating chocolate, chopping nuts, and making bread, cookie, or cracker crumbs.

This range is the first practical buying benefit. Instead of changing knife technique or fitting a flat disc into a processor bowl, you choose a cone tied to the result. Cleanup is split between the motor and removable parts

The motorized base must be wiped clean, while Presto says all other parts are dishwasher safe. That boundary is easier than washing a full processor jar, but it is not a one-piece dishwasher cleanup. Remove food from the cones, keep the electrical base out of water, and account for four cutting parts, the chamber, and the guides after a multi-cone session.
