COSORI CP267-FD Dehydrator: Six Stainless Trays

THE BUYING TAKE

Choose it for repeated multi-tray drying when capacity and adjustable temperature matter more than compact storage.

Best for
Home cooks who regularly make jerky, dried fruit, herbs, fruit leather, or pet treats in batches large enough to use six trays.
The trade-off
It takes substantial counter or shelf space, costs far more than a small stackable dehydrator, and its long cycles still require consistent slicing and safe placement.

A food dehydrator earns its counter space when you actually want to make more than one tray of snacks at a time. The COSORI Premium 6-Tray Stainless Steel Food Dehydrator CP267-FD is built for that kind of batch work: six removable stainless-steel trays sit in a cabinet-style body with rear airflow, a glass door, a digital timer, and an adjustable thermostat.

The main buying question is not whether dehydration is useful. It is whether you make enough jerky, dried fruit, herbs, fruit leather, or pet treats to justify a dedicated appliance this large. If you do, the six-tray layout can save the repeated loading and unloading that smaller stackable dehydrators require.

Six trays make batch size the real upgrade

COSORI lists six stainless-steel trays and 6.5 square feet of drying space for this model. That matters when you are working with sliced apples, citrus, jerky strips, herbs, or several trays of the same ingredient.

The cabinet layout also keeps the trays on separate rails instead of stacking them directly on top of one another. You can open the door, pull out one tray, check texture, and return it without dismantling the rest of the batch.

That extra capacity is wasted if you only dry a handful of herbs every few months. For occasional small jobs, a compact five-tray machine or an oven with a dependable low-temperature setting may be easier to store.

Temperature control is broad enough for fruit, herbs, and jerky

The CP267-FD adjusts from 95°F to 165°F, while the built-in timer runs in 30-minute increments up to 48 hours. That range covers low-temperature herb drying as well as hotter fruit and meat recipes.

The rear-mounted fan is the key design difference from simple bottom-fan stackable dehydrators. COSORI says it sends heated air across all six trays at the same time, reducing the need to rotate trays during a normal cycle.

Drying time still changes with food thickness, moisture, room conditions, and how crowded the trays are. A timer can stop the machine when planned, but it cannot decide that two slices with different thickness are equally dry. Consistent slicing still matters.

The glass door helps when a long cycle is running

Dehydrating can take many hours, so being able to see the trays without opening the cabinet is useful. The front glass door lets you check color and shrinkage while the fan and heater keep running.

COSORI also includes overheat protection that shuts the appliance down if temperatures get too high. That is a worthwhile safeguard for a countertop appliance designed to run for long stretches, but it is not a reason to ignore normal placement rules. Keep the vents clear, leave space around the housing, and use the machine on a stable heat-resistant surface.

The current product page also carries a California Proposition 65 warning. Buyers for whom that disclosure matters should review the manufacturer’s current warning before purchase rather than assuming a stainless exterior means every internal material is covered by the same description.

Stainless trays simplify cleanup, but the appliance is still large

The six removable trays are stainless steel, and COSORI includes a mesh screen and fruit-roll sheet for foods that would fall through the larger tray openings. The removable pieces are easier to wash than a fixed interior rack, while the cabinet itself can be wiped down after it cools.

What you trade for capacity is footprint. COSORI lists the machine at about 13.4 by 17.8 by 12.4 inches. It is not a small gadget to hide in a shallow drawer, and it makes the most sense if you have a dedicated storage shelf or enough counter space to leave it accessible.

Buy it for repeated batch drying, not for one-off experiments

Choose the COSORI CP267-FD if you regularly make jerky, dried fruit, herbs, pet treats, or fruit leather and want a six-tray cabinet with adjustable temperature and a long timer. The current direct COSORI price is $143.99, so the value comes from repeat use rather than novelty.

Skip it if dehydration is only an occasional experiment, storage space is tight, or you rarely need more than one or two trays. In that case, a smaller dehydrator costs less space and may be easier to justify.
