An indoor camera starts with a placement decision: which part of the room do you actually need to see? The eufy Indoor Cam C120 combines a fixed view with plug-in power, two-way audio and local recording options. Its buying case is a planned indoor viewpoint, not a promise to cover every corner or recognize every event.

This article covers the white single-camera C120, model T8400, also documented as Indoor Cam 2K or Solo IndoorCam C24. Decide on the view, connection and recording arrangement before choosing it for a room.

Choose the view before the shelf

The C120 does not have motorized pan and tilt. That makes the first practical question the direction in which you will place it. A shelf or mounting point should serve the view you want rather than simply be the nearest available surface.

The first buying reason is a fixed indoor viewpoint that can be left in a deliberate position. Think about the part of the room you want to check, what furniture might block it and whether the position will remain useful as the room changes.

It requires continuous plug-in power and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Plan an outlet and a cable route as part of the installation. Calling a camera wireless does not make this model battery powered, and an available 5 GHz network alone does not satisfy its stated Wi-Fi requirement.

Check the live image after setting up the actual device. The manufacturer's resolution specification cannot determine whether your chosen angle captures the relevant area. This is an indoor camera, not an outdoor camera to place in the weather.

Give two-way audio a purpose

eufy documents two-way audio, allowing someone using the app to speak through the camera. That is a second buying reason if short communication at the selected viewpoint is useful to you.

Decide who needs to use the feature and how they will access the camera. A supplier picture illustrates a conversation beside the same physical unit; it does not establish speech clarity or response timing in your room.

The manufacturer also documents activity zones and detection settings. These can help you define the area and kinds of alerts you want to evaluate. Configure them around the actual image rather than assume a default arrangement will suit your household.

Recognition and alerts are functions to assess, not guarantees that nothing will be missed. This article does not test notification delay, false alerts or performance as a child-care device. Choose the camera for a specific viewing and communication task without treating an alert as a substitute for checking the situation.

Plan storage before relying on a recording

Local recording uses a compatible microSD card, which is not included. eufy's T8400 documentation specifies support up to 128 GB. Include the card and setup in your purchase plan if recordings, rather than live viewing alone, are the reason for buying.

The manufacturer distinguishes resolution by use. The camera supports up to 2K event recording, while its original manual describes continuous recording at 1080p. HomeKit use is also specified at 1080p. Do not assume the largest resolution label applies to every recording arrangement.

Decide whether you want event clips or a continuous timeline. Then check the relevant recording options, format the supported card as instructed and confirm that the expected recordings are actually available.

Cloud services are another arrangement with their own terms. Local storage capability does not establish that every optional service is free or that no data can ever involve cloud features.

Check the system you actually intend to use

eufy's current compatibility guide lists the C120/T8400 as supported by HomeBase 3, while HomeBase 2 and HomeBase mini are unsupported. Check the specific hub and available functions instead of treating all HomeBase names as interchangeable.

For the simpler camera-and-card arrangement, start with the supported Wi-Fi setup and app instructions. Adding a hub is a separate decision, not an accessory you must purchase to give the fixed viewpoint a purpose.

Choose the C120 when indoor placement, plug-in power, short audio communication and a planned recording method match your needs. Consider another camera when remotely moving the view, outdoor placement or battery operation is central to the task. The useful result is a view and recording routine you have checked in the actual room.
