Lian Li A3-mATX: Choose the Layout Before the Long Graphics Card
THE BUYING TAKE
Choose the standard black A3-mATX after one complete configuration fits, including the cables and cooling budget.
Best for
Builders keeping a compatible Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX platform who can plan PSU, GPU, cooling and cable clearances together.
The trade-off
No fans are included. Hardware clearances depend on the chosen layout, and smaller power supplies or different cooling can add cost.

A smaller case can make a desktop feel less crowded, until the power-supply cables occupy the space reserved for the graphics card. The Lian Li A3-mATX is attractive because it accepts familiar component formats in a compact enclosure. The purchase works best when you choose a complete layout before committing to the largest parts.
Start with the hardware worth keeping
The A3-mATX supports Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards in a 26.3L chassis. That gives a builder with a suitable Micro-ATX board a route to a smaller system without automatically buying a new Mini-ITX platform. It does not make an ordinary full-size ATX motherboard fit.
List the exact board, graphics card, power supply and cooler you intend to reuse. Measure the actual versions, including the graphics card's thickness and the power connectors that extend beyond the main body. A familiar product-family name is not enough when manufacturers offer different coolers and board designs under it.
Next, decide where the finished PC will live. Allow room for the external cables and for access to the panels. A compact case still needs breathing space, and a narrow shelf that hides the ports may be less useful than the larger case it replaces.
Let the power supply settle the layout
Lian Li supports several power-supply formats and positions, including ATX, SFX and SFX-L arrangements. That flexibility is the central planning opportunity. It is also why isolated maximum dimensions should not be added together as if every largest component fits at once.
Use the manufacturer's configuration diagrams for the power supply you actually own. Check its length, connector locations and cable exit space against the graphics card and intended cooling arrangement. A shorter supply can create a different set of options, but buying one is an additional cost to evaluate.
Treat cable routing as occupied volume. Modular plugs and stiff cable bends need room even when the metal housings clear each other. Do not force a side panel closed over a connector or assume that an advertised graphics-card length accounts for your preferred cable route.
Write down the chosen mounting position. That makes subsequent purchases easier to assess and gives you a reference when comparing an alternative cooler or graphics card.

Buy cooling for that arrangement
The selected standard black version comes without installed fans. Include the necessary cooling hardware in the total build cost instead of comparing the empty case price with a fully equipped alternative.
The mesh side and top provide ventilation openings, but openings alone do not establish temperature or noise performance. Those results depend on the components, fan arrangement, room conditions and workload. There is no reason to promise a quiet gaming system solely from the panel material.
If using a radiator, check its complete dimensions together with fans, tubing and nearby hardware. If using an air cooler, check the assembled height and surrounding clearance. The manufacturer's maximum figures describe limits, while the layout diagrams explain how parts compete for space.
Choose a modest, deliberate starting arrangement and evaluate it after assembly. Adding every possible fan location can complicate wiring without answering the specific cooling problem you have.
Keep the finished build serviceable
Before closing the case, check that cables clear fan blades and that storage and front-panel connections are accessible enough for the next maintenance task. Photograph the layout for your own reference before panels hide the routing.
Test the system with its intended everyday workload and watch for unexpected behavior. If something is noisy or hot, change one relevant setting or component arrangement at a time so the effect is understandable. A finished compact build benefits from a clear baseline.
Buy this A3-mATX for a verified component plan and a desk that benefits from the smaller enclosure. Confirm the standard black mesh version rather than mixing its details with the wood or glass editions. When the existing parts require compromises you do not want, a slightly larger enclosure may be the more practical purchase.
