A push block becomes a more useful purchase when you can explain how it will sit on the material you cut. The Milescraft 3406 GrabberPRO gives you several ways to arrange that contact, rather than asking one fixed underside to suit every board. Its adjustable legs are the main attraction for woodworkers whose projects change in width and shape.

This is a purchase decision about configuration, not a shortcut around learning a machine. Milescraft lists table saws, router tables, band saws and jointers among its applications. The relevant question is whether your particular operation permits a stable setup, a clear blade path and the contact required by the tool's instructions.

Four leg widths change the available contact

The 3406 includes interchangeable legs measuring 1 inch, 1/2 inch, 1/4 inch and 1/8 inch. Those are individual leg widths, not four promised cutting modes. Repositioning and choosing the legs changes the underside arrangement, which is useful when a fixed-width push block does not match the intended workpiece.

That is the first reason to consider buying it: the contact layout can be configured around the work. It does not establish that every narrow cut is suitable. Milescraft's manual requires at least two legs during cutting, with clearance between the legs and the blade. A narrow leg alone is not permission to use an unstable arrangement.

Inspect the underside and your intended operation before ordering. If the material cannot provide the flat, stable contact the manual calls for, the adjustment range does not solve that mismatch. A product photograph illustrates the mechanism; it cannot approve a setup on your own machine.

The support foot addresses a different fit question

A support foot can be lowered to help support the push block when the workpiece shape calls for it. Milescraft describes its use for taller or thinner material. This is a separate adjustment from choosing leg widths: one changes support height, while the other changes the contact arrangement underneath.

For a buyer working with varied stock, having both adjustments in one tool is a second practical attraction. You can assess support and leg placement together rather than assuming the top surface of every board provides the same base. That benefit is a judgment about the available adjustments, not a measurement of smoother feeding or better finished edges.

The tilted handle and grippy underside also deserve inspection in the product images. They show where pressure is applied and how the tool contacts material. Grip depends on condition and setup; neither the handle shape nor the pad material justifies a claim that slipping is impossible.

A replaceable heel still needs attention

The adjustable heel is sacrificial and retractable. Milescraft also sells replacement heels separately. For recurring work, replaceability matters because a consumable contact part does not have to determine the useful life of the entire block. Do not mistake the separately sold five-pack of heels for five replacements included with this listing.

Cleaning is another ownership detail. The manual describes cleaning the gripping pads with mild soap and water. Debris on a contact surface deserves attention before use; the grip is a feature to maintain, not an unlimited performance guarantee.

If you rarely perform work that benefits from configurable contact, a simpler existing push block may already meet your needs. The case for the 3406 becomes stronger when you can identify a recurring configuration problem and explain which adjustment addresses it.

Choose the setup, not a safety promise

The GrabberPRO is worth considering for an experienced user who will check the whole machine setup and follow both sets of instructions. Its adjustable legs, support foot and replaceable heel give the purchase a specific purpose. They do not replace appropriate guarding, machine-specific procedures or a sound workpiece.

Avoid buying solely because a listing mentions reduced kickback. That is a manufacturer claim about the intended function, not evidence that an incident cannot occur. The better buying test is concrete: does the tool fit the work, remain stable and leave the required clearance in the operation you actually plan?
