Souper Cubes 1-Cup Freezer Tray 2-Pack: Portion & Freeze

THE BUYING TAKE

Choose the Aqua 1-Cup 2-Pack if you batch-cook often and want leftovers measured before freezing; use ordinary containers if you rarely need portioned freezer storage.

Best for
Batch cooks who regularly freeze soup, chili, stock, sauces, grains, or leftovers and want predictable one-cup portions instead of one large frozen container.
The trade-off
Two loaded trays need freezer shelf space, the lids are not oven-safe, and Souper Cubes recommends popping food out rather than microwaving the steel-reinforced trays.

A big pot of soup is easy to make and awkward to freeze in useful amounts. One large container commits you to thawing everything at once; a row of small containers takes over the freezer. The Souper Cubes 1-Cup tray uses four oversized silicone wells instead: fill each cavity to the marked line, freeze the tray, then push out a one-cup block when you need a portion.

The selected Aqua 2-Pack gives you eight one-cup spaces across two trays, which makes the system most useful for people who cook in batches and want leftovers divided before they disappear into the freezer.

Freeze the portion before you choose the container

Each one-cup tray has four cavities with half-cup and one-cup fill lines, plus metric markings at 125 and 250 milliliters. That means the useful decision happens before freezing: pour a full cup of chili into one well, half a cup of sauce into another, and leave yourself a portion that can be reheated without defrosting the rest of the batch.

Once the food is frozen solid, Souper Cubes recommends popping the blocks out and, if you want to reclaim the tray, moving the cubes into a freezer bag. The tray is therefore a mold first and long-term storage only if you decide to leave the portions inside it.

That distinction matters. If you normally finish leftovers within a day or two, ordinary refrigerator containers are simpler. The tray earns its space when you deliberately cook extra food for later weeks.

The steel-reinforced rim keeps a full tray manageable

Large silicone molds can become floppy when they are filled with soup. Souper Cubes builds a steel frame into the upper rim so the tray stays more rigid on the walk from counter to freezer.

The snug-fitting lid adds a second practical benefit: the filled trays can be covered and stacked instead of leaving open food exposed to freezer odors. The lid does not turn each cavity into a separate sealed container, so keep the tray level until the contents freeze.

The selected Aqua 2-Pack is the one-cup size, not the visually similar half-cup or two-cup versions. Each one-cup tray measures about 11.75 by 5.75 by 2.5 inches, so check your freezer shelf before assuming two loaded trays will fit where a few small containers currently live.

Pop out a block, then reheat it your way

Flexible silicone is what makes the frozen-food brick useful. Instead of waiting for the entire tray to thaw, press from underneath one cavity and remove the amount you want.

Soup or sauce can then go into a pot or a microwave-safe reheating container. Souper Cubes says the tray itself is made from food-grade silicone and is dishwasher safe, but its FAQ recommends popping food out before microwaving. The tray has a steel-reinforced rim, and the company notes that exposed steel would make microwave use unsafe and that microwaving the tray is outside its recommended warranty practice.

The tray portion is oven-safe up to 415°F, which can be useful for recipes such as individual quick breads. The plastic lid is not oven-safe, so remove it before any baking use.

Buy it for repeatable batch cooking

The selected Amazon child is B07GSSR5V2 under parent B0H3WSPNK6, with Aqua and 2-Pack selected. Amazon currently shows 4.8 stars, 22,984 ratings, and 2K+ bought in the past month.

Choose this two-tray set if soups, chili, stock, sauces, rice, or similar foods routinely leave you with several portions to freeze and you want them measured before storage. Skip it if freezer space is tight, you rarely batch-cook, or you prefer individual lidded containers that go directly from freezer to lunch bag.

Souper Cubes does not make leftovers last forever. Its value is organization: freeze food in predictable amounts, remove only what you need, and free the rest of the batch from the all-or-nothing container.
